Should I ditch the flash site or not?

What's making you consider dropping the flash site? Lack of interest? Difficult to code? Not getting the traffic?

But as for the font, you really ought to consider scaling that up. It's far too small.

im getting a new 24" screen tomorow so i;ll be able to se eif its too small, currently at 1400 x 1050 it looks fine, although I prefer small text.

I guess I want to consentrate on one site and not have to think about updating the flash version.

If one is out of date and people went there it would be bad.

If you think it looks okay at 1400 x 1050 then either your font scaling is set to the wrong size or you aren't getting 1px:1px on your screen. It's uncomfortably small from where I'm sitting.

From looking at the coding you are using a 10px font. I'd recommend at least 12px.

As for concentrating on one site, I'd question the value of having two in the first place. What prompted you to code two sites and run them side-by-side? Accessibility?

well, I made the flash one. I guess to prove to myself I could do it. However people said that flash is bad, the devil, unsearchable, and all that jazz so I put together a simple html one.
Ideally the flash site could be done with html just without all the flashy bits.
Its hard to know what to go for, what style to use, simple or extravagant, my idea changes every moment and I cant decide.

I've got no problems with a site made entirely in flash, as long as it's usable and accessible. And I'm actually quite impressed with yours. It just needs to be a bit more user-friendly.

The font, as we already know, is too small and that makes reading the text slightly uncomfortable. The thumbnail images in the bottom left are also too small. I can barely make out what they are. I'd also be worried about how you'd incorporate more images into your galleries as fitting a way of scrolling through multiple pages of thumbnails poses a problem with how they are sized at the moment.

How about you incorporate some of your ideas into a single website? Use a simple HTML framework but add in some of your flash work where appropriate to give yourself something that will be easy to keep updated and very user-friendly.

There is small and unreadable - if you want people to be able to see what you have to say then make it larger as it looks smaller than this to me or if you are going to insist on giving eye strain to visitors to your site make it black on white rather than white on grey as it is easier for most people to read :D
