should i buy the nikon 24-70

thinking about buying the nikon 24-70 only thing stopping me is the price. its currently around th 1240 mark. now this is higher than previous prices but i guess with japan the price is only going to go up and out of stock?


what are your thought?
 
Saw photos taken by a friend with the 28-70, and they were amazing.
 
Go for it, you won't be disappointed! I use one every day at work and shooting wide open it gives amazing results. Also one of Scott Kelby's favourite lenses.

It is expensive, sometimes they appear on the sales pages here or on avforums.com in the classifieds for digital cameras and lenses.
 
P.S. you do of course also get full frame results on the D700 so it is a proper 24mm.
 
Wouldn't part with mine for all the tea in China.
 
In short - YES!!! (if you can afford it) Buy used if you can't get new....

If not, then get the 28-70 :)

I sold mine (beast) in order to get the 24-70.... :thinking: Why I aint sure really as I could've saved myself the £350+ upgrade cost :lol:

:suspect: What no Trev yet - :thinking: he'll be along soon (no doubt :lol:) & he'll say the beast as well...

What about Sigma 24-70? Not perfect, but my version is extra sharp and is focusing fast
 
Nikon 24-70 and the 14-24 are both fantastic. Best there is without a doubt - worth every penny. 70-200 VR11 completes a great set!! :)
 
I have purchased a nice shiny new 70-200 and sold my D700, so on the lookout for a 24-70, have prices gone up on these?

err...prices have gone up on everything. Just wait a few months, the factories are back working again...
