Some things go without saying – the length is standard, and they have to be perfectly straight, so there’s nothing there to show in the photos and so we concentrate on the things...

I have awful trouble photographing 1 piece Snooker cues. Ones that come in 2 or 3 sections is a whole different story and far easier I think.

Agreed. But after taking the main shot, you can always create extra shots of specific parts (tip, butt, extension) in the way that I have.
