Shooting in Sunlight

I'm going out with my camera tonight as it's so clear and sunny - what are the best settings or tips for shooting in sunlight to get the best result?

Just going to try it out in the local park so some scenary, trees, plants etc.

Need to make the most of this weather and the trees have just started to turn which is beautiful.

Backlighting on autumn trees can work well - evening light can be nice - it's all about getting the right light for these kinds of picture.
