Hey, Just a quick question.

If one was to shoot in the shadow area of a large building using available light as the key light without a flash but with reflectors, is there any problems that may crop up?

On a Sunny day or Overcast day/?

I was planning to shoot a white card at the start to give me neutral starting point ready for post when I get home.

Cheers

I always thought it was best to shoot in the shaded areas out of direct sunlight anyway, you could then find a place just out of the sun and stand your reflector in the sun and angle it.

But then I dont know much either

Yes that was an option that sprung to mind but at that time of day I think the shadow from the building will be all encompassing, besides its the wall of the building I would like to have in the shot so I'll be quite close to it.

I plan on shooting from lunchtime onwards so the sun should be getting weaker as the day goes on making the shadows not so pronounced.

Is that theory correct?

Make sure you shoot RAW and you can adjust the WB later.
