Shocking Sword attack in Sweden

There is that, but it shows that people kill people even without guns.

I wonder what the motive was?

There's no doubt that people can kill with literally almost anything if they really want to - stones, cushions and even frying pans :D. Guns just make it so much easier to kill things, lots of things, quickly.

I haven't heard a motive yet but I expect it won't be much different to all the other cowboy nutjobs.

Four patients are currently being treated in hospital, one teacher and two students (I would assume the fourth is the attacker?). They're all said to be in a serious condition, hopefully there are no more deaths to come.

Towards the bottom of the page the BBC say that this is the first school attack in Sweden since 1961, so thankfully they are very rare.

I am hoping that when I am killed it is suffocation by Taylor swifts thighs!!!

and so would the police units deployed to such an incident in the UK.

Regular unarmed police units would get sent too, but would keep back if possible until firearms arrived, unless people were at risk. More likely a dog handler or tazer officer would arrive before firearms though, especially in more remote forces

The last school attack in Sweden was in 1961 so hardly competes with the USA.

If suicide is a crime they're near the top of the league I think.

A picture has emerged of the chap before the attack, apparently posing in the school with pupils. Complete with black garb, black helmet and some kind of black face covering (paintballing mask or bandana?).

Looks like another run-of-the-mill nutjob.

In the last case, it seems that the weapon was intended to intimidate rather than be used, so it would make little difference if it were a sword or gun.
In the other incidents, it appears the wielder was intending to hurt people - and the assailants managed one hand cut-off, two hands cut and one murder. Whilst obviously very serious. I think the results would have been far more severe had the assailants had firearms.

I like shocking as a word...I am still shocked of such savage and lunatic behaviours. I am looking forward to learning more about the perps, but its such a sad event. I am shocked. Shock may swing to outrage later....

I like asinine as a word.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1]extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion,[3] often for their own amusement.

You are trolling...

Apparently the Police have found "interesting" things at his address.

My money's on swastikas etc and he's a young loner into his far-right, anti immigration stuff.

Here we go

Don't take this off topic of the OP otherwise people will be getting time out
