Sharpening

I tend to sharpen as the last job BEFORE resizing, but sometimes it needs another "tweak" once resized for "web"
That was a lot of help wasn't it? :D
 
It's only part of my workflow, right at the end.....

It goes....

All the copying and editing...then backup the fullsize edited TIFF.

Then before I close the shot down, I resize to 700px longest edge.
Then sharpen a few times (small amounts repeated, rather than one big go)
Then add a border and tag, and save.
So just before the end really, AFTER resizing.

I dont do any sharpening on the full size versions at all.
 
Always make your sharping the last thing you do. ;)

I'd go along with Marcel's "method". but for posting here and onto web sites I stand by what I said.
this has been "twiced sharpened"
I don't think it has been degraded ?
I guess your best bet would be to try both methods and see what suits you the best for the type of application?

Sharpen a few times.....With what options? 50% 100% etc etc ?????

Radius : 0.2 pixels
Angle: -22
With More Accurate
Remove : Lens Blur
Settings Name : "Default"
Shadow : Parameters
Amount : 30%
Tone Width : 30%
Radius : 1
Highlight : Parameters
Amount : 85%
Tone Width : 85%
Radius : 1

Thats all the settings from my action. When I've resized to web, I find I tend to run this action between 3 and 8 times or so. (Its assigned to an F key, so I just hit F7 x a few times until it gets too much then knock it back a few steps in the history, then continue with my workflow).
