I have been experimenting taking shots of jewellery which I have found quite challenging, getting the lighting right etc. I more or less got there but I have noticed that the actual gemstone isn't quite sharp due to the light getting bounced away etc. apparently cameras find gems quite awkward top get pin sharp. Anyway, I now needed to sharpen things up a bit. I found articles about the 'find edges' approach to sharpening which looked interesting. Unfortunately, the article(s) assumed I was an expert and lost me completely as they mentioned things that were not supported by instruction etc. can someone please help with a good, explicit, long-hand example of exactly how to perform the whole 'find edges' sharpen technique from start to finish. thanks.
