Sharp RAWs and blurry jpegs?

I've recently started using RAW files and the DPP software that was included with my (Canon) camera. On the last shoot I went on I saved everything as RAW and large jpeg when I took the photos. But on previewing them in DPP the jpgs look blurry whereas the RAW version of the same file looks sharp. It's very obvious in the preview but I can't tell whether the same thing is true when zoomed in or not (so, if it is true, it must be to a lesser extent).

What on earth is going on?

Same here - jpeg thumbnails look blurred, RAW look fine. This only applies to the thumbnail previews though, the actual images look fine when zoomed in (well, as fine as a 450D jpeg can look, ie. slightly soft)

Found out why: In DPP, have a look under Tools>Preferences>General Settings. There is a tick box option to view jpg thumbnails in high quality. Default setting is unticked
