Hi everyone, help please if you can.
I have a Canon 50 D digital SLR with a Canon 28-135 IS Lens attached , it's only recently I've noticed my photo's arn't as sharp as I got on my 400D Camera even when using a tripod. Any advise or has someone had a similar experience.
Thanks

My first thought.. are you leaving IS on when on the tripod? That will cause a weird effect as it's looking for movement.

Other than that, I think it'd be best to post photos (pref normal and a 100% crop) with exif data :)

Assuming that you use Jpeg, rather than RAW, the way that the Jpeg engine treats the images on a 50D is a bit different from the 400, and a lot of that is down to the higher density sensor.

Have a play round with the Picture Styles (specifically regarding in camera sharpening), which controls how your camera treats Jpeg compression, and if necessary create your own custom version. There is loads of info on the net as to how to use this.

Likewise if you are editing, cropping or resizing your pictures on your PC, you will need to learn how to apply the appropriate amount of sharpening to the images.
