Hi,

I'm getting real paranoid that my 450D and Tamron 70-300 isn't giving me clean crisp shots?

So far with all the snaps i've taken i cant find one that looks as sharp as any i've seen on here... All handheld and mostly on TV.

How can i find out if it's me or the equiptment? I realy wanted a "propper" camera to get shots like those on here but i'n not happy:(

At 100% i think its bad??

I think that could be OK, the rule of thumb for shaky hands has been followed, roughly.

Have you tried another lens and do you shot in raw ? Also where about do you stay im sure there is some kind person on here that would meet up with you and give you some help and pointers (maybe even let you try one of there lenses)

I hope you don't mind but i had a play with your pic, all i did was sharpen it and crop it. Did you sharpen it when you resized it for the web

I think thats all it is not you or your camera :D

All digital images will need a sharpen PP.

I think that with your lens the optimum would be around 200mm at about f8. On this particular shot you were employing both extremes which could have slightly degraded the capture.

If the 450Ds menu is similar to the 400D you can go in and set the sharpness for the style your shooting in. The exif data indicates Standard.

On the Camera try Menu > (menu) 2 > Down to Picture Style (probably shows Standard) > press Set make sure Standard is selected > Jump (button on camera) and here you can alter settings and in particular Sharpness.
This may help.
