Setting up a home studio!

Hi guys. I'm trying to get my kit sorted for portrait photography and I'm looking to set myself up with some home studio lighting, stands and backdrop etc. I want a kit that is study but mobile for use at other locations. I have a tripod but no lighting at all. Any suggestions please? I shoot with a Nikon D7100.

You might want to ask the mods to move this to the 'lighting and studio' section. Or you might want to head over there and read one of the last 6 threads on this subject.

We'll need to know your budget and exactly what you're planning to shoot to give specifics. And how much you already understand about 'lighting' (ie do you understand that 'lighting' doesn't depend on gear)
