Worked well in my spare room, got a piece of black velvet ish stuff from fabric land :) £15 for 1.8x3.5m as thats all they had left and it took minimal photoshoping for creases and such :) so very happy, now to try the piece of white muslin i got for £16 :) also 1.8x4m :).

he's a handsome fellar!

Light looks pretty good,i am thinking along the same lines to try it.:)

Excellent.:)

I can take orders if anyone is interested :), I've used a 1/2" piece of S/S tube 2m long with the 2 1.5m S/S Brackets :) will make bigger ones as and when i need them :).

My only crit would be that I'd have swapped the brackets so that the fixings tab/leg of the bracket was inwards  Cool though and nicely made

How much ? looks a very neat bracket

I'll work out a price :), as i've touched on below I've only really made these as they are easy and I'm not interested in paper roll yet I'm not entirely sure if it will support a 1.8m wide roll but holds cloth fine :).

But if like me you just want to start out :) then cool :).

Yeah i might swap that around on the 2nd batch if i make some more :).

bit wee those brackets aint they?

paper rolls are fair heavy

Tell me how much a roll of paper weighs and i'll see if i can test it :), only thing that is weak on that is the Bar as it was free :) if i got an 1" piece then it'd be much stronger the brackets should hold a fair chunk of weight. I might try using s/s Flat plate and welding them :) but that is all in the future as im not planning on using a paper roll yet I've only just started out on the studio thing so doing everything on the cheap hence homemade brackets and a couple of clamps :).

Looks really good to me, I'm all for saving money where I can.

In the past, I've used a pair of ladder hooks and a 3m length of 3/4" plumbing pipe to support paper backgrounds

I found nothing on google :(
I just know they're quite heavy as I've carried them 10kg at a guess

I have had a lot of curtains fall out out of the walls before and the mounting points look a bit soft to me, I'd go belt and braces with several widely spread plasterboard plug (the massive metal that screw in and ones you screw into) or if thats brick use a pair of raw-bolts.
Its not the bracket that looks to be the weak point but the wall fixings

with muslin I massively wouldn't worry though

Didn't think you posted anymore lol, where was you on sunday I went to gunwarf and saw the really lame ramp they have lol.
