I've got a Feisol CT33702 tripod, which could do with a deep clean and service - there's some sand in a couple of leg locks and they don't tighten as smoothly as they did previously.
I've looked at the online instructions, which appears relatively straightforwards:
1) Is this an easy job or one that I might regret taking on ?
2) The manual refers to using marine grease - quick Google suggests a variety of products described as marine grease. Any advice appreciated on the best product to buy much appreciated

TIA

1) Should be, as long as you can understand the instructions and follow them.
2) As long as the grease is waterproof, it'll do the job. Not sure where you are but if you're anywhere near the sea, you could probably blag a bit (you won't need much so a whole tin/tube could be a waste!) from a marine workshop (take an empty film canister if you have one) that deals with outboard motors.

You might try howes models in Oxford ,they do silicone grease for marine models in small tubs ,you only need a few grams

Silicone or Teflon grease from a cycling shop will do the job
I used Finish Line Premium on my tripod leg locks and it worked well.
Wash them off with soapy water including the spacer inserts inside the legs.
Then lightly smear the grease on the threads, but avoid getting it on the legs otherwise they may slip
