Hope this is ok as wasn't sure where to post this.

I have very recently sold all of my Canon lenses on Ebay.

I listed a few of them last week and they sold within minutes of listing and I was happy with the price I got.

Lenses posted, lenses recieved and feedback left.

I had to go through various hoops with Ebay to prove who I was, and then the funds were released, and again, recieved.

I listed another lens today and again, bought within 5 minutes, buyer paid and just going to post tomorrow.

So, silly question, but with all this happening so quickly, is there any way that I should be worried by this?

For instance, no contact from buyers, no requests to meet up and just bought a lens for £1,700.00 on the strength of half a dozen images.

Admittedly the buyer had to pay for protection insurance, but this is all very weird, as it seems too easy.

Please put my mind at rest?

Thanks all

Possibly just the right kit at the right time at the right price(s).

Im hoping so Nod.

I can't see any way they can somehow get their money back now that it's in my bank account.
One of my more cynical friends suggested it could be a scam and money laundering, which obviously worries me, but I have the money and they have the lenses so I see the deal finished from an Ebay sense

Fingers crossed for you.

just check buyers feedback if its over 50 positive there shouldn't be a problem .. as long as your description is accurate and and the postage is tracked /insured then no worries . the only time to worry is if the buyer buys something that's not compatible with the gear they have then request a return, can and does happen with all the varying mounts and models these days .canon/sony and Nikon spring to mind

Just had a message enquiring about an item I’m selling for a few hundred £. Potential buyer joined eBay 2 days ago and has zero feedback.
Suspect they might want it sent to their work or 2nd cousin though.

I assume that if you use PayPal, you receive the money in PayPal, transfer it to your bank they then can't open a dispute and then your PayPal account gets debited and you're liable to cover the costs to the debited PayPal account?

I would not even entertain that one - you can specify in your listing that people with less that 'x' amount of feedback need not bid

Always sell with serial numbers in the text and images too.
Images yes, serial numbers, did not think of it.

Well it's all done anyway - paid for, delivered, money sent to me etc so all good

I think that maybe whoever is buying has an algorythm thingy set up so that every time an item falls into that spec, it buys it.

Either way, i'm happy as now the majority of what I was selling, has gone. Just need to sell the R5 itself now

But to be honest, if buyers have paid, haven't left any strange requests, and you've followed all the usual eBay procedures, you're probably fine. People are quick to buy high-value items if they are looking for something specific, the key is to use reliable payment methods. It's like when I play games then I use this site with 1 euro deposit casino sometimes it even seemed like it was too good to be true.

But it's legit, now I'm always there looking for reliable payment methods and I can even win some money. Also keep proof of postage and communication just in case, but it seems you are doing everything right.

Thanks all
If your payments cleared through eBay and you used tracked shipping, you'll likely be fine!
