Yes
My folks are selling their caravan through caravan club and they got sent this email. To me it seems a bit fishy because of all the similar emails I had whilst selling my car through Gumtree. Like I'm a Navy pilot instructor working away, I'm offshore, Army, Support worker in Africa etc etc.

What do you lot think? When I was getting emails like this they were wanting to pay through western union and very similar to this with wanting to buy without viewing etc. Here's the email:

Proceed with extreme caution would be my shout, the usual scam is to have the PayPal transaction reserved after collection.

Personally I wouldn't touch that with the proverbial 6 foot barge pole AND I'd pass it on to the Caravan Club as well

Scammier than a scammy thing, "with the military air-force and presently in camp serving the nation"

You'll receive an email from PayPal confirming the money is in, but if you click on the senders PayPal email you'll see it is actually from something random such as

2626526181@yahoo.com

I had the same with a camera and was asked to dispatch to an address in Nottinham, which he then changed to Northern Ireland. I passed both emails onto the police along with the PayPal details

Thanks all. I thought the same but wanted to make sure. I told my folks not to bother and just ignore it. They will pass on the senders details to the caravan club also.

Military air force. You got to love the scammers. If it was me I would entertain it for a bit longer and get my hands on the money :) play along a little and let then waste their time. Perhaps you can ask them to transfer it to your lost uncle in Nigeria?

Scam city.
"Presently in camp serving the nation?"....please.
Delete.

Lol I have some fun with scammers who try to get in contact with me. My folks on the other hand aren't so clued up on all this scamming and technology. They think the world is made of rainbows and roses. Luckily they asked me about it before they gave them any details.

the paypal web address is .com and not .co.uk

Really, who buys their first son a caravan as a surprise present? :D

whats a caravan?
