Sekonic L-308S light meter - Should the LCD light up?

Just got one today in the post and according to most websites it looks like the LCD display should light up a kind of blue colour. Am i right as i cant get mine to?

There are plenty of pictures on Ebay that suggests it should, but there is no mention in the instructions. My L-358 does glow blue.

Does it do that automatically or do you need to set it?

We used to have one...isn't there a button you have to press to get it to light?

I was thinking of upgrading my old Digi Lite F to one of these and after just reading the manual there is no mention of a backlight on the L308s but there is on the L358 so I would say no it doesn't have one.

But I have been known to be wrong

Yeah i thought that but before i purchased it plenty of places inc. e bay displayed the image with a bright blue lcd. Strange?

That link is the manual and there is no mention of it backlighting.

I have a Sekonic L-558 which lights up automatically in low light - you can't switch the light on manually. I dunno if your meter is similar?

I think the lower ones in the range dont. My 358 does..when any button is pressed the screen glows green.... but I dont know if this always happens but I just cant see it in the daylight.
