Anybody got one? Thinking of buying one for £99 second hand which should save me around £40 on a new one (e.g. on WEX website). Any comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks.

There is one for sale in the classifieds for £90 saving another £9. not sure if you can use the classifieds with your low post count though....bummer.

Thanks tiler, I might check it out if still available when I get a few more posts under my belt!

Personaly i wasnt all that impressed, I bought a new one and it would get its reading wrong half of the time.

I use one in the studio. Works fine everytime. :)

What makes you think the readings were wrong and why only half of the time? If it was faulty it would give bad readings all the time...

I bought one 2nd hand and it was definitely dodgy, not registering the light at all, so I know these things can & do "break". Luckily I was able to get my money back. Then I bought one new and it's spot on every time.

Well, I've taken the plunge - it comes with 6 months warranty so I'll see how I get on. Thanks for the comments.

After a tiny bit of research I think the 358 is a better buy but more expensive. Mainly for the Aperature priority feature.

I found my L-308 (S) to be an accurate meter, and use it as a reference as it is as accurate as my Nikon D7000's matrix meter.
