Do you share all your secrets or keep some back???

That was a question I was asked by someone today - so I thought I would ask the same here....

and what was your answer? :p

Proper answer - I don't know enough to keep secrets but what I do know, I will gladly share with anyone foolish enough to listen :)

Amongst my little group of photography friends and family I started to open up and share some of the 'secrets' that I've discovered partially from this forum and some from trial and error, and becuase they arent quite as enthusiastic about it as me and perhaps dont take the technology available as seriously, they just seem to switch off and be polite.

Hence, I don't anymore. But will happily help people out on this forum as thats what it is all about. Share and share alike.

I would share secrets with the camera and locations, but it's things like what position is the best to stand in on some shots - kind of being selfish a bit to keep the best to me - I'll happy give points like crouch down a bit in the stream etc, but not like move 30cm to your left etc... I used to get - "crouch down, a bit more, a bit more.. oops ha ha"

can this thread be moved - thanks as I think Phototalk is giving us a hint

I share the secrets of how to take pictures as crap as mine but I keep the axe murderer stuff to myself

I never share "secrets" - i.e. what people tell me in confidence. Gossip too, I don't pass that on.

But "secrets" like locations for pictures, camera tips, and similar across all walks of life I'll happily share - expecting the same in return. After all, we learn by sharing!
