For reasons which are too boring to explain* I want to get a second hand body probably a 40D or maybe 50D.
Will prices drop between now and say June?

Who knows, but a pretty decent 40D is not much over 100 quid now, cheap enough I would have thought

Go on then. Not doing an IR conversion are you?
 
They'd only really drop if they were the model being replaced. IE if you were talking about the 70D being superceded by the 80D.
It's unlikely the 40D/50D will change much in price.

Oh no, it is that when I go on holiday to Colombia there is often so many things to photograph that I was thinking of using the 40D with a MPE65 mm and my 7D MK II with a Tamron 150-600 so I can get everything otherwise I will see a beautiful bird and want to change lens etc.
Last time I went there I took 3 cameras but one has since broken and one was not mine and couldn't use a flash anyway.
 
Shucks. I have an IR converted 40D sat here doing nothing and I thought.......
