When purchasing new and even second hand cameras, i take it shutter count is taken into consideration as is that likely to be the main part/feature to go wrong? I haven't heard many software/Firmware failures in cameras so should shutters and there shutter count be a cause for concern?

How much do shutters replacements cost and suppose they have to go back to the main dealer for repair? I'm looking at second hand cameras but taking into account buying this way the shutter would be next to break and if so how much out of pocket would that cost me?

My friend had a shutter replace on his D7000 recently. I think is ranging from £200-400. It seems price maybe different depend on the model, everytime I ask someone about the price, they all different.

It's one of the hardest working mechanical parts of the camera, but shutter buttons and switches can also fail.

You don't check the mileage of a used car because you think the odometer is the most likely part to fail. You check it because it's a quick and easy to read indicative measure of usage.
