Can anyone assist. I’ve read the various guides but to be honest I end up muddled a bit!

I have a Nissin di866 MkII and a set of YN622C Triggers

I use the Nissin off flash for ETTL and controlled via the triggers

My question is, what’s the cheapest way of adding another flash (with emphasis on cheap) that can be controlled via camera? and what flashes are compatible at the lower end of the price range

Or is there a cheaper way of doing this where I can get control and keep it cheap. ETTL isn’t necessary but manual adjustment from camera would be preferred. I assume this is possible on the YN622C, can I have one flash running ETTL and one running manual ?

As a last resort I assume if I was happy manually adjusting on flash then the cheapest way is to buy any flash with optical slave mode (£25) and ensure its in the Nissins line of sight to trigger it

Buy another YN-622C and a Manual-only "Class 1" YN flash. Cheapest ones have no HSS. P.5 of TOYUG.

Yes, using MIX mode on the camera's 622C. P.9 of TOYUG. You can augment ambient by using the Nissin on-top in E-TTL and a YN in Manual on a remote 622C. P.10 of TOYUG. But, you lose ability to control remote power output in Mix mode. This configuration does not need another 622.

An optical slave must have S2 mode, but even then firing can be erratic. line-of-sight is not required as long as there is a sharp rise of light detected. (unlike when using the Canon Master/Slave digital light pulse system).
