The sony AX-53 camcorder I had I also had a stereo microphone which worked great,The problem with it was it was dedicated to that camcorder with contact pins and the footplate for it would not fit another cold shoe so it had to go.
So looking around or something similar and what a nightmare that was. Most had what is called X Y crossover heads so they more or less faced each other so I crossed those out not good enough surround sounds . Next was the power supply as in 9v square battery or off camcorder battery, last thing I need is to run out of battery power.
Some had swivel heads but only up or down, totally useless. some had "ball "heads" that picked up everything around about, not what I was looking for. On top of listening on youtube to many types to me they didn’t seem to true stereo microphones other demo videos by people were just head on not side to side test.
I almost gave up BUT found one make that did what I was after.

also it is powered by 2xAA batteries and the heads swing outwards as well
Now for price search and here again it pays to have look around. I found someone/business selling used but claims in good condition for half the new price.There were quite a few people looking at the advert on that well know auction site
