I am a newbie. I use a Canon PowerShot sx740hs to shoot videos for a course I'm designing. It's a point and shoot camera. Iv gotten to the point where I can get it to look pretty good. Im shooting indoors and have 8 led lights that make the shoot very bright. However, something started happening recently that is tearing me up inside because I can't find an answer. My videos will start off sharp and completely in focus. However, as the video goes on, it will get less and less sharp. Not to the point of being blurry. But noticably worse than the video started. I have the camera on a tripod and on manual focus, so it's not like the camera is re-focusing automatically. Nothing changes as far asbthe equipment in my shoot from beginning to end. Iv searched and searched but cannot find an answer. I strive for quality looking videos, and this is ruining that for me. Does any experienced photographer have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it. Thank you in advance for any info and advice you can offer me.

It could be due to the camera heating up over the course of a long video shoot. Many cameras do this but it doesn't usually cause a problem such as this. You could try recording the video in short bursts and letting the camera cool down between shots to see if this is the issue.

Mark's suggestion was also my thought when I read your post, Adam. Although the camera is set to manual focus heating might cause a change.

Thank you both so much for the advice. I will try to record in shorter segments and update this thread with my results
