SD memory card

:bonk: I've bought an SD memory card on the web . I can take pictures with it and see them on my camera. When I try to download them I get a message that the card does not contain a recognised file and I can not format it . Any help please ?

What size card?
What camera?
How are you 'downloading' ?

Is that error message 'card does not contain a recognised file system' ?

I had this once when trying to read a Lexar 80x CF card in my Sandisk firewire reader, it turns out the two just didn't get on, so maybe thats the story here as well, can you try it in another reader?

What sepulchre said - card readers (if you're using one) can be finicky beasts. I'm on my third now as the first two failed at some point or couldn't read 'large' capacity memory cards.

I'm probably wrong, but you're not shooting Raw are you ???

Just an idea, maybe you could leave the card in the camera and use the USB lead? That's what I do anyway.
