SD Card to Micro SD Card Adapter

I am looking to buy a laptop for mobile LR work, and would really like an HP Envy. The one downside I can see is that it only has a micro SD card slot. Do people have any recommendations for an SD Card to micro SD adapter?

I have had so many problems with those micro SD cards which fit an adapter to fit an SD card slot in a camera, I don't want to go down that route.

I bought this adapter and it simply doesn't work in the micro SD card slot in my wife's older HP laptop.

Ideas?

I use integral brand card reader because they seem to be good value for money especially for UHS-ii SD card readers. You can get one for both USB 2/3 port and USB-C port.

It's not really using up a port per say since it won't be stuck to it for ever. But if you are struggling for ports then a USB hub would fix that easily.
