SD card for video

All,

I need a large capacity SD card for video.

I have a D5500, and ideally i would like to shoot in 1920x1080 50p or 25p.

Anyway, im looking at either a 64 or 128gb card. I currently use Sandisk extreme 64gb 90mbs for my general photo / daily use. These have been fine.

Should i be sticking with the 'extreme' or should i look to the 'extreme pro'.
They are a chunk more money for something i fear im not going to be able to utilise properly due to the write speed of the camera.

Can someone clarify this for me?

The buffer capacity and the write speed are the sure
obstacles. Using a faster card —like the extreme pro
will positively influence the outcome.

One can't do much in terms of buffer performance but
the "write to card" may be optimized with a better card.

Is it justifiable to spend an extra £25-30 just to have the pro version? (Based on amazon pricing)
Im not sure i am actually going to utilise the extra write speeds as i believe (correct me if im wrong) the D5500 can only write at a maximum of about 75mbs?

I am not familiar with the D5500 but data transfer is critical
in this case. I think it would be wiser to chose a card that
can take (outperform) the writer so to avoid a ceiling in the
transfer… say some 15~20% i suggest.

Like in everything, testing and comparing performances is
always a good strategy.
