Hi guys,

I have just got myself a new Canon 70d and I am looking to get a screen protector on both screen asap. I have seen a few on ebay, some glass and some normal plastic. Anyone have any opinions on whats better and any links to ones they've used?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Whichever you feel happy with. The GGS glass protectors are often recommended. I use the normal plastic ones as I feel they would be easier to get off in the future if I need to. I bought one from Amazon (link below), it is for a Nikon d750 but they probably do one for canon 70d.

To be honest I only use a screen protector to stop surface scratches. It I dropped the camera on the screen I doubt a protector would be much help.

I've used the GGS glass protection previously and was happy with it, but i've not bothered with recently.

I always go for anti glare ones, but admit I've not tried others.

The screens themselves are pretty robust tbh

The Canon cameras already have a screen protector- you're getting a screen protector protector...

Those 'screens' cost less than the better quality protectors

It's your money, but I personally believe your priorities are distorted, take some photos, visit galleries, enjoy your camera, one day it'll be old and unused, the images it'll capture should make people smile forever. Will it matter if the screen has some marks on it?

Ok for you ladies (and feather fingered gents) that shoot weddings ;) bring your nice camera out with me for a nice Engish enduro and I will roost some mud and wet sand on your I scratched screen for three hours, then we will see how you feel about camera protection. ;)

Just stick one on there :D

I also like to shoot rallying, which is almost the only time I use filters :p

But like I said, a 'good' screen protector costs a similar amount to the Canon item it's 'protecting', when the canon one gets damaged, replace it! It's a five minute DIY job.

And yes I've had a Canon top screen smashed at a wedding, and the replacement was less than a tenner ;)

Good point, you can chalk that one up to you :)
