Hi All, I was just wondering what people's views are on the best screen size for editing. Are larger screens best.. or would you go for a dual screen set up? I tend to use Lightroom for post processing, and was looking for some guidance for a new screen.

Thanks, Ben

Obviously the highest res you can afford and biggest real estate on screen - and extra monitor are all going to make editing more accurate.
Visit the bank manager, pop down to an upmarket computer store and empty your wallet.
Easy.

Hahahaha

Get a good quality IPS panel. Something like the Dell 2312H (23inch) is great for photo editing as it has a very wide colour gamut, showing you every colour your camera captured realistically. Avoid ultra cheap or gaming TN panels as they are awful for photo editing as they cannot display colour correctly, no matter how well they are calibrated.

A second hand Dell 2311 (previous model, had one myself) will set you back around £120 if you look around and those are ideal for photo editing.

Thanks... alerting the bank manager is a good shout!

Do most people recommend the Dell Ultrasharp series? Such as the U2412, U2711 and U3011?

Cheers

Yes. 2x smaller monitors are preferable over 1x larger IMHO. I run 2x 24" monitors (Dell U series). I prefer that over 1x 27" or 1x 30".

I'm also share the same dilemma. Im debating over getting one U2711 or two U2412M's. The resolution of the U2711 is swaying me at the moment. Will this even matter that much when it comes to post production/editing? Does anyone on the forum own it?
