This is a long shot.

About 12- 15 years ago I stayed in a cottage on the West Coast of Scotland, I think it was in the grounds of an estate. It was either on the coast or on banks of a Loch and nearest main town was Oban. The cottage had a wildlife observatory upstairs, from which we watched otters virtually every evening.

For the life of me I cannot remember what is called or even exactly where it was but would love to go there again. Does it ring any bells with anyone.

My main motivator is the ease with which I could now (with my current kit) photograph the Otters.

As I said, a long shot!

I might be able to... if you can give me further details (distance from Oban?)

If you're after otters and other wildlife, why not stay on Mull?

There's lots of self catering Ben More estate, Salen pier etc.. Otters are showing with cubs at present on Loch na Keal and Croggan. The birds are all showing well, lots of boat trip options too.
