Anyone been to the Argaty Red Kite feeding station near Doune? Im thinking of visiting and wondered what it ws like for pic taking.

The site says the hide is suitable for up to 30 people and its not very expensive for a day ( not an RSPB site). Just seems like a good chance to see these birds which are very rare here in Scotland.

I have been in touch with the guys who run this. They feed between 5 and 35 birds at feeding time. The hide is around 40 meters from the feeding station. They will put the food out the back of the hide if a tog is in the hide as the light and backdrop are meant to be better.

I will be heading there in the next 4/6 weeks with the camera.Anyone else want to attend. Maybe offer some tips to us new togs.

On a side note--would the 300 f4 be long enoug for some pics at the feeding station? I know the Kites will come in from all over and some closer pics will be possible but is 40 meters to long for the 300mm f4, if so i will need a tc.

Hi, Payed them a visit when I was in Scotland this summer, was worth it, the Kites get close, would be able to get some pics with a 300mm, this was taken with a 100 - 400
