Scanning 35mm mounted slides

I am trying to import 35mm mounted slides into iPhoto on my mac, then I am going to create a DVD. I am using an Epson V200 to scan to my computer. I have figured out how to use the frame to put my slides on (I can scan 4 at a time) for scanning. When I scan the slides and import them to iPhoto they are not photos but look like x-rays. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like they are not being illuminated properly.

Sounds like the scanner's set to scan negatives rather than slides.

Thanks to your reply to my query I looked again at my options on my scanner.
I didn't find to scan slides, but I did fined positive film. So I tried that and it worked. Fantastic.
