Hi all, I have a Scandisk ImageMate 8 in1 card reader, which I am trying to install on a Win10 laptop and Win 11 PC to no avail so far. Help/advice Please !

This might help

It seem from the article that where it is plugged in matters

I don't recall having issues with Sandisk readers, Lexar yes but not Sandisk.

So FWIW I have this one bought in 2019 so think I first used it with W2K and then W10 on my desktop PC. It is plug & play and latterly I added a USB PCI card to get as close as possible to USB3 speeds on this aging PC. So it used to be plugged into the motherboard USB2 ports and now the USB3 adaptor.

SanDisk ImageMate Pro Multi-Card Reader/Writer

There are some places selling but oddly not Amazon!

HTH and that you either resolve your issue or find the one i use a useful bit of info :)

Thank you for your help and suggestions, which I have tried (think I tried all that I could) Now awaiting a reply from Sandisk, which I think is owned by Western now.

Been thinking, the SD card I was trying was 16GB I've now tryed it with a 32MB card and it works. Seeing has it is a oldish card reader could it be limited to a certain size of card you can use in it ?

I've never heard of a card-reader not reading a smaller card. Yes, there could be problems with larger as @troutfisher describes as there are three types of SD card - SD, SDHC and SDXC - with increasing sizes ranges so a reader made to one of the smaller standards can't read the larger cards of the newer standards but it's all supposed to be backwards compatible.
