Hi,
Over the weekend I have been playing around with my mates D2x and SB800 flash. While I wait to be able to find an sb800 (or post enough times here to be able to post in the wanted section) has anyone had any experience with off camera flash using a sc-28 or ebay equivalent with the Nikon D40 and SB-400 flash?

Are the cheaper ebay versions compatible with iTTL and wodl they work with the D40/SB-400 combo?

Hi Yoshi,

I happen to have one of the cheap eBay versions of the SC-28 and can confirm that it works fine with the SB400, cant speak for the D40 but can almost guarantee that if it worked on my D80 it will be fine on the D40.
 
cant seem to track them down on ebay at the moment
