Apologies if asked before, tried searching google and here but cannot get the SB600 to fire. I got my Nissin to fire first time, but even in manual mode cannot get the SB600 to fire.

What exact setting does the SB600 need to be in to fire :bang::bang:

And thanks in advance

I take it it is attached to the pt04 reciever ,turn off the cls mode on the flash ,make sure the sb600's hotshoe lock is on and the channel (if it's the 4 channel one ) is switched to the correct unit .I would manually click the transmitter button to check

I know that the trigger works as it worked with the nissin flash. I've got the sb600 setup in manual saying "NO AF-iLL" (i guess thats the CLS turned off?), camera in manual mode, still not working.

heres a pic of the flash setting

I had a problem where i didn't quite push the SB900 far enough onto the pt04.

Could it be that?

The settings seem correct to me.

Tried to wiggle it around a bit, still didn't work. very frustrating :shrug:

Has the sb600 got a lock button on the bottom of it? If it's pushed across to lock then it won't go on properly. Just a thought.

You've got standby (sleep mode) enabled on the SB-600, that means you need to trigger it either by the button on the transmitter or by firing a "test" shot before it will wake up and work properly.

Try turning the standby function off and see if that helps...

Just noticed you said "even in manual mode" - manual is the only mode that the flash will work in with the likes of the PT-04 or RF-602 systems.

NO AF-ILL means that the Auto Focus Illumination lamp on the front is switched off...

I've had this with my SB600 on these triggers. It only worked intermittently. It seems as though it doesn't sit on the terminals correctly. Ended up getting a replacement trigger and touchwood it seems fine now.

I found that out this afternoon. I used a cocktail stick and it worked ok, but don;t want to have to do that all the time...
