Just ordered myself a SB-600 and should get it this week, i have looked over the net for information on how to used it, like video tutorials - had looked to see if kelby training have done one, they seem to do the newer models.

Is there any work arounds or things i should know in advance with the SB-600 working with the nikon D90, so i dont be asking later.

Thanks

They work well together. Only thing I have found is that when you have the camera set in commander mode so that it will fire the remote flash, the onboard flash stills goes off even though you have the setting set for it not to fire. Apparently this is the way that the camera sends the signal to the flash and does not affect the picture.

That's the way commander flashes work, they have to send a signal to the remote flash so it knows when to go off. Saying it doesn't affect the picture isn't quite true. The commander flash will be set to very low power but it is still a flash emitting light so there will be some effect on the photo but it will be fairly minimal.
