Hi everyone...just joined the forum, looking for words of wisdom as I forsake my beloved 35mm film world and enter the waters of DIGITAL WORLD. I've had a point and shoot digital for some years now and since most, if not all, of the community based darkrooms have closed down and I couldn't process my 35mm black and white film and prints, I've decided to buy a dslr and try and get back into photography via the computer and software. I have a Nikon D3100 with a standard 18-55mm lens and a few filters, and an old Cannon 300D with similar lens. I may pass the older Cannon on to my Daughter which will make the Nikon my flagship...a longer lens will be forthcoming shortly, though I'm not sure which one yet.
So.....I will be reading all your posts and generally being a nuisance with my simplistic questions about all things digital.....I swore I would remain a 'proper' photographer and not succumb to the digital revolution...but here I am, unable to resist the strength of the gathering digital tide. Wish me luck ,
