Saving actions without hitting record first?

Hello all,

I think the answer to this will be a big no, but I was wondering if it is possible to save a series of events in Photoshop as an action if you haven't first created a new action and hit record?

I know how to create actions in the usual way but sometimes it would be handy to be able to save an action without having planned to, for instance if after playing around you create something interesting by "happy accident", to be able to create an action of those steps without having to undo, click record and repeat the steps you took?

I'm not holding my breath!

I wonder if you could use History to help with this ? No idea but it might help give you ideas as to what you did

I've looked for this in the past and not found anything.

If I have time I might go back and record it to an action there and then but if I don't I just make a note of the step I am at, time and date and use the history log details to record it at a later date.
