Yes
What a car !!!!! (for those who just watched TG)......but why didn't they let the Stig take it round the track :(

Fair play to Mansell also....that was a fast lap in that car ;)

That car is simply amazing.

Clarkson seemed genuinely saddened that he couldn't drive it again :p

Well yes but imagine owning that car and never, ever being able to drive it to it's full potential?

fantastic bit of kit.

And votes coming in now for the understatement of the year...

An 8 litre W16 engine? :eek1:

Top quote - 'This thing's got more radiators than my house'!!!

People seem to forget how fast Mansell was/is. Easily faster than Prost and Senna just too aggressive most times for the car and for other drivers. But no one could beat him on a hot lap.

You could take it on a trackday, round Nurburgring or something.

You'd probably worry about wrecking it though. Or somebody else in a Citroen Paxo wrecking it.

But that's okay - you could insure it with Norwich Union as a Rover... :nut:

I'd be worried about scratching the indicator stalk.....£4.5K !!!

Most amazing fact for me was......you could let the McLaren F1 get to 120mph from a standing start , before letting the Bugatti loose.....& the Bugatti would get to 200mph first !!!! Mindblowing.

Calm down Dave! You've never gonna own one!!

;)

The 12km banked Nardo loop would be the only track that you could hit top speed on, no other circuit has a long enough straight. Nurburgring main straight is about 1.5km long and I think the top speed record is only just over 200mph at the end.

German autobahn would be your best bet for seeing top speed, but watch out for VW camper drivers pulling out in front of you. At over 150 you catch and pass other cars awfully quickly !

Did anyone else catch the statement that they limited it 252mph? I'm sure they said that but I don't know if I heard correctly. Why would they do that?

To keep it on the ground? :)

And next year they're going to bring out the camper van version.

Top Gear is one of the few things that I really miss now that I am in Germany :hissyfit:

Cheers for the link, which torrent client do you recommend for a noob?

OK this is doing my head in, I have downloaded and installed Edonkey complete with all their advertising crap :( I connected to the torrent and its downloading SLOOOWWWLY...I should have the file somtime next year at this rate. Reading the instructions it seems I have to open a load of ports on my routers and in my firewalls, can they not just make something that works?

Is there no easy way to get this working properly?

The tyres are only rated up to that speed

ugh, edonkey is pants and its full of spyware

try http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/ for a nice, small non-bloatware bit torrent client

For me it was that if you were to have it going at full speed, it would go through a full tank of fuel in 12 minutes

That episode single-handedly inspired me to go out and buy 10 extra lottery tickets.

Not really mate. Like Matt, I use Azureus. I find it a good program, but you will need Java installed on your PC and will also need to open up a port on your router, from memory it's just one port though, maybe two.
