Sand in lens

How do I get what sounds like grating sand from the zoom collar on my canon 70 - 200L F4?

Hi,

It could be sand or dust, or just about any airborne pollutant.

Try blowing it out with a compressed air bottle - the sort used for cleaning mirror boxes.

Good luck.

More likely to blow it in. Send it to a reliable repair shop for cleaning.

Cleaning shouldn't be too much, better than grinding your lens to nothing but a paperweight
