Has anyone bought one of the Samyang 8mm f.35 fish eye lenses ? any good ?

I'm looking for a relativly cheap fish eye to add to my kit as its something im not going to use much i dont want to spend a fortune...

its on my shopping list ive seen fantastic results with it if u can use manual focus jobs a good un

The DOF is so huge it rarely matters. Setting the dial just short of infinity gets everything from a couple of feet to infinity in focus.
 
I found it needs stopping down a little to get the best out of it.

Brilliant lenses, used Nikon and canon mounts on crop cameras and have just re-purchased one in canon mount which I'm going to *******ise to fit my full frame!

I'm going to be very interested to learn how this goes :thumbs: I believe as it's and EF mount it will fit but you get a circular image :thinking:
 
Yeah the mount is fine and you get a fully circular image, the issue is the build in hood is too restrictive on a full frame so you end up with a square photo.

You can cut the hood off, but it is also possible to strip the lens and remove it intact, I'm just working out which way to go with it!!!
