I have over time got interested in taking shots of the moon and enjoy getting them when I can't sleep.
The only problem is it either too cold but you still stay out there or here the Mosquitoes and coming out now.
So its rug up or scratch for the rest of the night.

I was told once I started with the moon I would be hooked, me of doubting them was wrong.
Now I would like to start on the Stars out there and was told the lens mentioned was a good on for the job.
Me being new to this sort of stuff, I really have no idea if its the right one or if there are better ones to spend my money on.
So with you all here and I think most have got a better idea than I do I was wondering if you you tell me if this it okay or point me in the right direction.

We are heading into Summer here so this will give me many hours out late at night.
So anything you can add please feel free to add it in.
Thanks to you all.

I'd say a great lens for star photography since even wide open the Coma is supposed to be insignificant.
Good luck with your astrophotograpy and looking forward to seeing your images.

It's a great little lens. Coma is present in the extreme corners and it has a wicked distortion. But neither are really an issue. Lightrooms distortion correction does the trick quite nicely.

Thank you to you all and its really appreciated heaps. Now its time to chat the wife up and see if Christmas time can bring one to me.
Love the shots and its what I would like to do and they have only made me want it more now.

A cracking lens even though I only owned mine for a week long trip to Iceland it let me capture the northern lights!

I must I must take to the wife and push a little harder to get this lens.
Love this green shot.
We don't have those Northern Lights but I think we have something like it but not half as good as these.
But then again you have to go with what you have and if I can get a shot of what we have I will be more than happy.
Thank you so much and I love this shot and as a fact all shots posted using this lens.
