Samsung TVs stuck on full volume!

My sons 24 inch Samsung to is stuck on full volume! It's as if your constantly pressing the volume button- tried the obvious reboot and taking batteries out of remote but nothing!
Any ideas folks or is it toast??
 
Google the model number, you should then find the code to press on the remote to enter the engineers settings page. You may find a setting in there to return to the factory default settings. I had a Samsung 40inch LCD that kept powering of, turned out it was the touch panel controls that needed a factory reset. usually a 3 or 4 digit code and then press the power on button.
 
If you have no luck with Google, then try these fellas.
 
Thanks for that- problem is the remote won,t respond because its being overridden by the volume up sensor on the front of the tv- its as if someone is constantly holding it

Is the volume control on the television itself a mechanical one (in which case the button may be stuck) or a capacitive one (in which case it might be worth trying to clean it with a little alcohol - after unplugging the set, of course!)?
 
Took the back off TV and disconnected the front panel controls from the motherboard thinking I could just use the remote- this disabled the remote receiver so no joy there!
Stumped now!
