The battery on my phone is not lasting as long as it should anymore sowas looking for a new one.

The original battery is 3.7 v and 1650 mAh but i can get a battery that is the same voltage 3.7v but 2450mAh.

Will this be ok to use and safe??? anyone else done this

If it's on eBay the chances are it's nothing like 2450mAh, Chinese sellers constantly overstate the capabilities of batteries they sell. I don't think it's possible to get a 2450mAh battery in the same size package as a 1650mAh. Mugen do batteries with larger capacities but they are bigger and usually come with a special back for your device.
If you buy a battery it's worth trying to find a genuine one but even an eBay one will work as long as you don't expect too much.

Thanks for that.
Will give it a go see if it will last longer than the one in there at the moment. cheap enough.

I wouldn't bother with one labelled as 2450mAh, it's probably 800mAh, almost certainly lower than the original. Just take the label they put on it off and it will reveal the real capacity. Either get a replacement from Samsung or get a trusted brand one.

I've got a genuine Samsung Extended battery sitting in my drawer, I could put it in the for sale section if you're interested ;)

I got a 1900mAh one from Ebay donkeys ago - it has a much better life than the normal battery (a day and a half normally) but it seems to cause the phone to crash more frequently than the Samsung original. That said, I find the occasional glitch less annoying than running out of charge, so I still use it. It's Anker branded if that's any help??

One of the few that seem to get good reviews (I was considering their battery a while ago but decided not to bother). I bought an in car charger by them, much better build quality than previous ones I've had that have literally fallen to pieces, so seems a good brand in general.

Hi Mr Grubby thanks for the offer, is that one of them thats thicker than a standard battery in which case I would need a different back on it and my case will not fit it, need a case for protection being a builder.

It comes with a replacement back and I've got cases that fit with it on...... ;)
