Has anyone bought a Samsung phone and registered it with them to activate the 2 year warranty?
If so, during the application did you have to submit proof of purchase?
I've googled around and opinions seem to differ so thought I'd ask here.
Some business based sellers on ebay state there is a two year Samsung warranty with them and one of them has informed me that his supplier is an authorised Samsung seller and he would supply an invoice and I'll able to activate the warranty.
There are also private sellers who have taken an upgrade but sell them on.
If it's just a case of registering the serial number and / or emei, I can 't see a problem if it's new and unregistered from a private seller.

No idea! But in the latter example you mention that sounds very suspect......as in if they then have a problem with their phone that requires service by the supplier just how do they explain why they have sent their old phone in? Also, I surmise that once a supplier has issued the phone it will be showing on their database (serial number & EMEI number) as to who the owner is........and just maybe that data is shared with, in this case, Samsung?

PS I stand to be corrected and learn if my post is incorrect ;)

Some of the private sellers are selling sealed box phones but your suggestion that the serial/ emei is registered by the phone company before sending them out and makes total sense.
I should have realised my self, thanks boxbrowie

Thinking longer, when i bought my phone from Amazon I think I recall there was "notification" on the site that they record the EMEI number( and serial number?). Though not stated why (as far as I recall?) I perceive that there will occasions when Amazon parcels never reach the buyer....so by recording those details "they" can register it as a stolen phone!
