Salmon photography tips?

Does anyone have any tips on photographing salmon against peaty water? I'm seeing if there are any tomorrow.

I took these in 2018

Tried this morning. There were a few salmon leaping every 15-30 minutes. River level was dropping slowly throughout that time.

I didn't manage to get any photos.

There was also a workshop there with 5 of them.

I also had trouble with my wireless remote with it not firing even though it worked yesterday. The workshop 'leader' eventually spoke to me and his remote was interfering with me. Once he turned his off, mine worked. Sadly battery went in mine, so I had to keep finger on shutter all the time.

It was be quicker fishing for them.

Just tested remote, and it's working again :rolleyes: Need to read the instructions and figure out how to change the channel(y)

@Dael_Pix What time of day was you there.. Forecast rain this week . I was thinking friday after rain stopped

Isn't nature marvellous! I had no idea Salmon were interested in workshops.

No I got there at about 10:30.

I'm not driving that way til next week when I'm going for Bearded T!ts

@KIPAX I've decided that I'll be there tomorrow. Fed up being in the house. Haven't been out since Monday. I've been doing art.
I've been checking the river level now and then all week and it's dropping. Hopefully it will be better conditions than I had on Monday, and they'll be more jumping per hour.

I should be there before 8am as i got loads last time going early.. might just have been lucky... mostly doing video but mate coming taking pics.. park on main rd and walk down?

PS bringing ear plugs this time :)

Aaargh .. I asked the first guy I saw and his name was Steve.. I decided not to keep asking everyone haha but I generally talk to anyone who will listen..
 
I found that I had more space to work with when I moved higher up, 100mm was too closed in.
