For those who of don't know, the event starts in the morning with congregations walking with banners and led by bands , starting from the local Saddleworth villages and arriving in Uppermill centre from about 10am. Onward. With a mass service on the King George playing fieldsg at about 11am.
The international band contests starts later in the afternoon , and goes on till late at night with individual and consequitive contests held in each of the villages.
It is a quite spectacular event all round, with thousands of spectators and participants.
