After the sad news earlier in the week of the death of Steve Irwin, Australia has lost another of it's National Heroes. King of the Mountain (Bathurst) and motor racing legend Peter Brock died yesterday after crashing his rally car into a tree. His co driver is in hospital with serious injuries but is reported to be in a stable condition.
Peter Brock for those that don't know won the Bathurst 1000 touring car race 9 times. He retired from full time Touring car racing in 1997 and took up rallying.
I dare say for Australians, Peter Brock would have been bigger than Schummacer or Senna.
Steve and Peter were both great Ambassadors for their country and for there respective chosen professions. Both will be sadly missed.
