I've got to choose my new company car soon and unfortunately my first choice of an A4 is not available but I've noticed the Saab 93 is an option. I popped into a dealership today and it certainly looks okay and appears to be comfortable enough but I didn't have time for a test drive.

Just wondered if anyone has/had one and what they thought of it.

I manage our Co Car suppliers and there is a bit of an issue with the exhaust particulate filter...... Unless you burn loads of motorway miles, the recycle burn doesn't work properly and you enter limp home mode until its reset.

I have a few on our fleet, and this has only happened to one. To be fair to Saab they agreed to pay the early termination fees - but i had to really push hard for it!! However, you should know. They are really lovely motors tho!!

drives like a vectra......shares bits with a vecra......thats enough!

They aren't the only people struggling with euro 4 emissions and dpf as a part.

Ford and Mazda have dpf issues too.

If i was on the look out for a large saloon as a company car, i'd be taking a very hard look at the Honda Accord.

Agree with this DF....

IIRC the Saab uses the 2.2 vauxhall engine in one of its current model......

Would second the recommendation of the Honda, I have a new shape Accord 2.4 Type-S ..............great car to own and drive.

After sales service is suprisingly good too.

Honda are great - we dont use them....... yet.

Driven the American V6 version - like all US cars you need a heavy right foot but once its started rolling...... wow.

European version - lean, mean and keen :)

FWIW I do really rate SAABs as a class act ... imo second only to Jaguar on a like for like basis ... why not try the various X Type models with the 2.2 Diesel as a class leading motor and with a superb engine in a great family saloon ... imo ... :D

And I have a special relationship with my local dealer who is probaly relatively handy for you too, if you need any help at all Colin ... ;)

KUP on your progress m8 ...

:p

LOVE the 93, fab car! especially with removable roof! do they make it in green?

do they make it in green?

Of course it does ... one can get pretty much anything in Green ... :D

Pleased to say it is not everyone's cuppa though ... talking of which I actually prefer Rooibos (RedBush) ... surprisingly  ... they don't make it in Grooibos ...

:p
