S*dding Lightroom - Help!

Hi all,

For some reason, I can't open Lightroom any more.

I'm using Lightroom 1.4.1 on Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop (Core 2 Duo, 2Gb RAM) and the minute I click on the icon I get:

"Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

ARGH! Anyone got any ideas? I've tried a reboot, tried deleting all the temp files, tried uninstalling and reinstalling and no joy.

I wonder if it's any coincidence that 4od has also stopped working too.

rawshooter did the same to me so now I'm using the lightroom 2 beta (well for the next 28 days at least). No problems with lightroom so far.

Try renaming your LR prefs file and see if that sorts it out, you should find it in:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences

my lightroom does the same if any other photo type progs are also open.Works fine on its own.Hope this helps

Do you have system restore on Vista.. Sorry still on XP Pro ( and likely to be for some time).

Try going back a few days and see if that solves the problem. If it does make a restore point for Now

Fixed it!

Apparently, there is an issue with the Dell driver (note: rebadged Intel) for the X3100 graphics.

Downloaded the latest one from Intels site, had to go the long way round to let the driver install (kept claiming that it couldn't detect the graphics on the machine) and voila! Working Lightroom again!

Wahey.

Still no 4od though, guess that's this weeks Peep Show gone until the DVD comes out then.
